Deterioration in the Chinese economy, falling commodity prices and the persistent political uncertainty contributed to the soft performance of the WSE indices.

Analysts point out that the plummeting valuation of utilities in 2015 was primarily driven by the risk of their participation in restructuring the hard coal mining sector. It should be stressed that in 2015 the share prices of leading European utilities (RWE, EON, Engie, EDF to name a few) continued to follow a long-term downward trend and with some companies reporting historically low market valuations.

Deterioration in the Chinese economy, falling commodity prices and the persistent political uncertainty contributed to the soft performance of the WSE indices.
