Employees

The biggest group of the Group’s stakeholders consisting of over 5.4 million people, including more than 500 thousand business clients. This group also includes strategic clients, such as ArcelorMittal, KGHM Polska Miedź, TELE-FONIKA KABLE, Volkswagen Motor Polska, the Górażdże Group and the Saint-Gobain Group. Due to its extensive size, various forms of communication are used.

The main tool is the TAURON Group’s website supported by social media and the “Polska Energia” (”Polish Energy”) monthly. Individual Group companies organise Open Days on a regular basis. Workshops for clients are also very popular, providing an opportunity not only to get better acquainted with Group activities but also to acquire new knowledge about the entire power engineering sector and its operations.

Shareholders

Following clients and employees, shareholders are another sizeable group of TAURON’s stakeholders. The biggest shareholders include the State Treasury (30.06%), KGHM Polska Miedź (10.39%) and Nationale-Nederlanden OFE (5.06%). The other shares (54.49%) are held by retail and institutional investors. Dialogue with shareholders is conducted mainly during quarterly investor conferences, roadshows and conferences to recap results.

Another form of dialogue generating unwavering interest is Individual Investor’s Day during which retail shareholders have an opportunity to visit TAURON’s assets and meet the management board. Shareholders also willingly use the TAURON Group’s publications such as the “Polska Energia” magazine (and the online Annual Report presenting the Group’s financial and operating results in an interesting and accessible way.

Banks

TAURON’s main financial partners include the following banks: PKO BP, ING Bank Śląski, BNP Paribas and Citi Handlowy. TAURON cooperates with them, inter alia, to raise funds to implement its investment programme, including the issuance of corporate bonds. In 2015 TAURON listed corporate bonds that generated considerable interest on the Catalyst market and, at the end of the year, signed a bond issue programme worth over PLN 6 billion. The main channels of communication with this stakeholder group include the website and the Annual Report. Banks and financial institutions are also recipients of the “Polska Energia” monthly.

The activity of the Energy Regulatory Office directly affects the sector’s operations. Accordingly, communication with the regulator is an essential element of the dialogue conducted with the environment. Opinions are exchanged mainly during sectoral conferences, workshops and training sessions. The website, the “Polska Energia” magazine and the Annual Report constitute additional channels of communication.

Environment

this category comprises other stakeholder groups – suppliers and subcontractors, non-governmental organisations, local authorities, representatives of public utility offices and entities, schools and universities, scientific institutes, media, trade and consumer organisations as well as competitors.

In addition to trade conferences, seminars and direct meetings, the most important communication channels are corporate websites, the “Polska Energia” magazine, the Annual Report and the Sustainability Report.

Ministries

since the power industry is one of the strategic sectors, its activities are closely related to decisions taken at a ministerial level. Consequently, ministries, including the Ministry of Treasury (shareholder), the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Energy (formerly: the Ministry of Economy) – represent important stakeholders in the TAURON Group.

Numerous conferences and sectoral seminars as well as meetings of working groups at individual ministries also provide an opportunity for contact and cooperation. Important channels of on-going communication include the corporate website, the Annual Report and the “Polska Energia” magazine.

Clients

Local community

Thousands of persons living in the area where TAURON Group companies operate make up an extremely important group of stakeholders. Since the Group’s business success and local community development may be achieved only by living in harmony, regular and transparent bilateral communication is very important. Dialogue with local communities is handled by the Group’s member companies since they are the closest to the local residents and are most familiar with their needs and expectations.

Wherever possible, Group companies select direct communication – meetings and social consultations (e.g. when planning or running new investments) as well as campaigns targeting local communities. Websites of individual Group companies, the Sustainability Report and local press where – if necessary – relevant announcements are placed, are sources of on-going communication.
